Sabine, thanks for the offer of photos from along the WHW... hopefully there won't be too much litter, but unfortunately I am sure there will be some; the more we highlight the problem the more there will be some sort of action (tho at this moment in time I have no idea what that would be!)

Jamie, its unbelievable where people leave their trolleys (I've lost count of the ones I have seen dumped in streams and ponds in Livingston where I stay), but to leave one outside Holyrood? I'm not even sure where the nearest supermarket is to there, but I bet they had to take it quite a distance just to dump it! Or was it placed there to make a point?

Hiya, I´ll go the West Highland Way ( 10.06.-21.06)
I hope there´ll be no litter on the way, but if there´s litter, I´ll post photos.
Scotland is soooo amazing and should stay as wonderful as it is!

The photo I used for this group was taken on Aberdour's Silver Sands on a Friday evening... and it only depicts a small amount of the litter that covered the entire length of the beach! Not only did it spoil what was meant to be a pleasant stroll to end what had been a good day, but it also left us wondering how people could be so disrespectful to Scotland!

We are proud of Scotland and don't want it ruined by ignorant people who won't take their litter home with them or even walk the few yards to the bins that are provided! We need to take a stand now to stop this happening. So if you want to stop sights like the one below please join up and help in the campaign for a Litter Free Scotland!

Please post any photos you have here (or on the facebook group we set up) of places in Scotland filled with litter and we can work together to try to educate the morons!
