- Comann Eachdraidh Uig is the historical society (that's what it means) in the district of Uig, in the far southwest of the Isle of Lewis. This is a beautiful part of the Hebrides, between mountains and beaches, and the famous Lewis Chessmen were found here in 1831. We are a voluntary organisation and run a museum, do research, record genealogy, collect objects and photos and record oral history, and are the first blogging Comann Eachdraidh - see our website!
