"Does anyone use www.lostcousins.com? I think it's one of the best websites for finding distant relatives. It finds matches based on information on the censuses so is pretty accurate. So far the only Scottish Census is 1881 but information from…"

Can you help in finding relatives prior to 1700 in the Penny/Cobban family.
I am stuck at William Penny b1717. Others interested in this info are Rosemary Miles and Ged Honningstad both members of this site
Hope to hear soon

I'm meeting a long lost third cousin while I'm there and I'm staying for three days in Chirnside where my Lawrie ancestors come from. Also heading to Aberfeldy where my Fraser/Gow ancestors are from. I probably won't do any real research as I'm quite happy accessing Scotlandspeople on the internet at home. I paid a researcher to search the National Archives for the details of my great great great grandmother who was transported to Van Diemans Land in 1848 and ended up with 70 pages of transcipts etc. It was just wonderful.
