My grandmother often told me about the "pass of the cattle" from when I was knee high. Drove it some years ago and stayed in Applecross. Love this part of the Highlands. My great grandparents came from the Parish of Applecross.
My friends who live near Tomatin sent me this photo of their house after the recent heavy snow. 30 years ago I used to go shooting rabbits on the hills around here. Many fond memories of this place.
A kiwi who lived in Scotland for three years around 1979. Mainly near Inverness but fell in love with the highlands, west coast and western isles. My fore bears lived in Wester Alligin near Torridon and came to NZ in 1898. Had a great time whilst there and hope to visit again soon. Part of my spirit still remains in the wilds of that magical land they call Scotland. Still have friends in Scotland who mainly live around the area of Inverness and Tomatin.
