This takes me back! Last time I enjoyed this view, had a terrible cold and was busy takng paracetamol ... but usually, the castle was an encouraging sign that we were getting near Skye, to visit my Dad's family. Good times :)

I can't help you much on that one - but some of the ladies on the Forum might! "Panade" is "coating" in English. "Batter" ("Teig") is the word you're looking for. Scots usually fry their…
